Choosing the Right Microcement for Car Garages

Microcement is a fantastic choice for car garages, it’s strong, durable & looks fantastic.  Because of the weight of the cars and the rubber on the tyres, there’s a very specific combination of products that can be used on car garage floors.

This guide explains the best combination of products and approach for garage floors.

Car garage floors are exposed to heavy loads and high pressure contact with rubber.

Surfaces that the microcement will be applied to need to be strong & stable, so that there is no chance of any movement.

It’s important that you choose a microcement with a high compressive strength that can handle the weight of the vehicles.  For this reason, we recommend Microdur, Microdur Plus or Microne Plus only.

Because cars may be parked in the garage for prolonged time periods, it’s best not to use  polyurethane sealer as the rubber can stain it over time. Instead, use Polyshield, which is a polyaspartic sealer, so resistant to rubber staining. It does require professional installation and will leave the floor with a glossy finish.
