Size

Premium quality fibreglass mesh designed specifically to add strength and stability microcement walls and worktops. This fibres are finer than the typical mesh that is used for rendering at 50gr. This makes it ideal for use with microcement, because the depth of the mesh is significantly lower than the depth of the microcement, so you can be sure it won’t be visible in the finish. It’s also strongly woven & bonded so that in won’t fray whilst you’re cutting it. And coated to eliminate corrosion due to prologued exposure to cement.

Including the fibreglass mesh for walls & surfaces as a base layer to microcement significantly increases the strength of both the microcement and the substrate.

Why Use Fibreglass Mesh?

Fibreglass mesh adds strength to microcement by acting as a tensile reinforcement skeleton, preventing structural cracks and absorbing subfloor movement.

Microcement is incredibly strong under compression but less flexible under tension (tensile strength), the mesh bridges the gap to create a durable, flexible composite surface.

Is it the Same as Render Mesh?

The mesh has been specifically designed for use with Cemher microcement base coats, it has a finished weight of 50g/m2, this is slightly less coarse than 160g/m2 render mesh. This difference is important as it will be completely covered by 2 coats of microcement base coat (at standard consumption).

The mesh is also designed to ensure optimum adhesion between the microcement & the substrate.

Fibreglass mesh adds strength to your microcement and adds strength to the substrate. Cut the mesh to size & then flip it over so that it curls towards the surface. You might find it easier to use Self Adhesive Fibreglass Mesh on corners.

Use a utility knife to cut the mesh to size, then flip it over so that it curls towards the surface.

When using the mesh, make sure you don’t overlap it, because the join may be visible in the microcement at the end of application.

The mesh usually sticks down quite well with primer, but you can use stainless steel staples if preferred.

There’s a product for every need!
