Why is My Microcement is Getting Dirty Easily?
Rougher surfaces hold dirt more than smooth surfaces, because there are more pockets for the dirt to get trapped in.
The microcement surface will be rougher if the microcement wasn’t sanded smooth enough before the sealer was applied. Or if there is insufficient sealer on the surface. During installation, the full consumption may not have been applied. Or if the 2nd coat of sealer is applied too soon after the 1st, the 1st coat can be compromised
How Can I Stop My Microcement Surfaces from Holding Dirt?
If you find that your microcement surface is holding onto dirt & it is hard to clean away. It will most likely be resolved with a sand & reseal.
Use a 220 grit sanding disc to smooth the surface & remove the dirt. If the 220 grit isn’t sanding enough off the surface, you can try a 120 grit, just take care not to scratch the floor.
Once sanding is complete, reseal the microcement surface to replace any sealer that has been sanded away & make surface more resilient.
