Microdur® Medium Plus is far superior to single microcements. Its resistance to compression, impact & abrasion is unprecedented. Microdur Medium Plus is used as a final top coat for floors. Advanced trowel skills will bring superior results and the mixing process is quite involved, so it’s only recommended for use by professional microcement installers.

Uses / Areas of Application

For improved strength, heat resistance and waterproofing, select Microdur Plus. The performance of Microdur Plus is unprecedented. Yet, importantly, the natural-looking cloudy effect of microcement is not compromised by the addition of the additional components.

Thanks to its waterproofing properties, it is not necessary to apply pre-sealer before the sealant to protect it.

It does not crack or fissure unless there is significant movement in the substrate.

It has a high level of stain resistance and high adhesion to any surface. It is specially designed to be applied in high traffic areas, but is a good choice for any professional who is seeking high performance materials without compromising on the aesthetic.

Microdur Plus® is an incredibly versatile, high grade microcement that is suitable for use in a wide range applications, including the following:

Highly decorative continuous coatings for interior floors
Coating of furniture, shelves, counters, etc
Coating of floors containing underfloor heating and around fireplaces
Can be applied on top of tiles
Applicable in interior floors, including kitchens and open plan areas
Decorative coating for both residential & commercial spaces including retail stores, offices, lobbies and exhibition areas

Mix the A + B components into a mixing bucket, then slowly add the MicroDur Medium, mixing as you go to avoid lumps forming in the mix.

Mix thoroughly with a microcement mixer head attachment on a cordless drill.

Then add the colour and mix it in well. Use a small amount of water to get all of the colour out of the bottle. Use a maximum 300ml water.

Let the mixture rest for a few minutes before applying.

Using a Microcement Trowel, work your way out from one corner creating a random edge pattern. Keep trowel movements small and random, avoid long sweeping arches – as these will show through to your final finish.

Use the grain in the microcement as your level – if you apply the microcement thicker than the size of the grain, the finish won’t be as strong and will require a lot more sanding. Run the trowel back over each section that you have put down to smooth it out and remove excess product.

Completely cover each surface without stopping.

Run your finger or a corner trowel along internal corners to push the microcement into the corner and then gently trowel away the excess product.

I’ve done quite a few jobs now over the past four years and can’t fault it. There’s a product for every need! It’s easy to apply once you get the hang of it and anything that you’re not sure about relentless are there to advise you. The only problem you’ll have is deciding which colour to choose !
