Microdur® Fine is combined with water to create a strong, durable, versatile microcement with a natural, cloudy appearance which is smooth to touch. This traditional microcement is reliant on sealers to make it waterproof, so is only recommended for use by microcement professionals who understand and accept the risks.

Uses / Areas of Application

Microdur® Fine is a single-component microcement coating formulated with high- grade cement, aggregates, additives, catalysts and synthetic resins. Combine with water to create a strong, durable, versatile microcement with a natural, cloudy appearance. Microdur Fine is intended for application as a final top coat, which is generally applied on top of Microdur Base on walls or as a grout on floors to give a very smooth appearance.

Microdur Fine is a microcement top coat that is usually applied in 2 coats on top of Microdur Base to give an ultra-smooth surface with a natural, cloudy appearance. Much of the appearance is created by the specific trowel movements of the installer.

For durability and longevity, we recommend sealing the Microdur surface with a suitable microcement sealer system.

Microdur® Fine is an incredibly versatile, high grade microcement that is suitable for use in a wide range applications, including the following:

Highly decorative continuous coatings for interior walls and ceilings
Final grout coat on Microcement floors to give a very smooth polished concrete effect
Coating around fireplaces
Applicable in interior rooms, including kitchens and open plan areas
Decorative coating for both residential & commercial spaces including retail stores, offices, lobbies and exhibition areas

Pour the Water into your mixing bucket and mix in the colour.

Use the Water to rinse out all of the colour from the bottle.

Add 10kg MicroDur Fine and mix thoroughly.

Let the mixture rest for a few minutes before applying.

Using a Microcement Trowel, work your way out from one corner creating a random edge pattern. Keep trowel movements small and random, avoid long sweeping arches – as these will show through to your final finish.

Use the grain in the microcement as your level – if you apply the microcement thicker than the size of the grain, the finish won’t be as strong and will require a lot more sanding. Run the trowel back over each section that you have put down to smooth it out and remove excess product.

Completely cover each surface without stopping. For complete rooms, start with ceilings, then walls from left to right (or right to left) and then the floor.

Run your finger or a corner trowel along internal corners to push the microcement into the corner and then gently trowel away the excess product.
