Mixing MicroMetals with Metal Resin

Micrometal is mixed with metal resin to form a metal paste that can be applied to walls by trowel to give them a fine coat of metal on the surface.

Once applied, an accelerator can be used to oxidise the metal surface to create a truly unique patina.

The standard consumption for MicroMetals is 5kg for 10m2, one coat.  The pot life of MicroMetals is 1-3 hours, so it’s best to mix larger amounts in batches.

You will need a mixing bucket and microcement mixer.

 

Mixing the MicroMetal

You will need 5kg of MicroMetal to complete 1 coat over 10m2.

Add the MicroMetal to a mixing bucket and add a small amount of Metal Resin, mix thoroughly, then continue to add small amounts of Metal Resin until it reaches a workable consistency.  The amount of Metal Resin required does vary depending on the metal. You will need 500ml – 1l Metal Resin per 5kg MicroMetal.

Let the mixture rest for a few minutes before applying. Keep a lid on it between coats. Working time is 1 – 3 hours.
