Using Microcement with Underfloor Heating
Microcement can be used with both piped and electric under floor heating but there are some guidelines that you must follow before applying the microcement. In this video, Richie explains all the dos and don’ts for applying microcement on top of underfloor heating systems.

It is important that you follow the guidance below before you apply microcement as the microcement is very much dependent on the surface it is being applied to:
Piped (Water Based) Underfloor Heating
Screed depth must sufficiently cover the pipes so that the floor is well consolidated & free from any chance of movement.
Screed must be fully cured so that moisture content is no greater than 5%.
UFH must be put through a full cycle (up to highest temperature & back down to lowest) at intervals no greater than recommended by the screed/UFH manufacturer. This will force out any cracks which can be repaired before microcement is applied.
Electric Underfloor Heating
Screed/Self Leveller aka Latex) depth must sufficiently cover the matting so that the floor is well consolidated & free from any chance of movement.
CAUTION: Manufacturers sometimes suggest a very low screed depth around 2-8mm is sufficient, but this is only suitable for use with tiles which add depth themselves. The depth of pour may need to be thicker for microcement, we’d usually say around 12mm, but it’s the screed manufacturer’s responsibility to advise.
